:: Please?

While the northern half of the East Coast surfing population is basking in the groundswell that ex-tropical cyclone June delivers we're here in Sydney grovelling in 1ft.  It's 4-5ft on the Gold Coast, probably only a touch smaller on Noosa Points and south of the boarder.  A few of the local crew have fled North to indulge in endless sand-bottom rights but I'm still waiting on that Qantas sponsorship to come through. We might get a chance to experience a little of June's offering this afternoon or tomorrow but the experts say it'll be an inconsistent 3ft+ NE swell.  Even that sounds pretty appealing right now.

From 5pm this afternoon the boys from North Steyne Boardriders will be battling it out for a Wildcard place in the drawn of next month's Australian Open of Surfing.  Good chance to surf against some of the best surfers in the world on home soil so it'll be hotly contested.

Fingers crossed for some of that Nor-East swell....  please can we have some waves! :: Murray
