Slow Returns

After a long weekend of big crowds, shallow swims, shark alarms and surfers seeking out the relatively sheltered sandbanks of the south end, this week feels like the start of a slow return to normality. Day-trippers are gone and the community is finding it's feet back on the sand and slowly venturing beyond the shallows. We're early-morning people, but dawn is quiet with surfers preferring the advantage of a little extra height in the sun and viability in the water. It wasn't exactly pumping this morning but in these conditions you'd still expect a scattering of surfers from end to end; this morning I saw one.

The journey back into the water is a personal one. If you feel like chatting about your experience through, I saw that Lifeline NB has set up a drop in and chat space at North Steyne Surf Club. More info here

See you out there soon...
