:: Jungle Book

Sri Lanka's a bit like a real life Jungle Book set, there's elephants, crocodiles, a range of monkeys, leopards, wild peacock and all manner of colourful birds. I took the budget tuk tuk safari yesterday afternoon, an unofficial tour of the outskirts of Yala National Park where the animals are testing the boundary looking for rice and crops. The freedom of a tuk tuk was great until we had to make a hasty retreat on a narrow trail after a very close and loud elephant trumpeted a warning. - Not the best vehicle in reverse!

Oh yeah, and we surfed in the morning again at our favourite little pile of rocks not far from Arugam Bay. Sri Lanka's wild!
