Before
Before…
Before the showers rolled in from the south, it was a morning just like any other so far this week. Mild, clear and sunny with light winds and minimal swell. We had a couple of hours of very pleasant sunshine before the weather changed. The waves were small at first light with early signs that the swell was building from the south. By this afternoon it should be nudging up around shoulder-to-head-high with cross-shore southerlies. Swell increasing; conditions deteriorating.
Iconic filmmaker Jack McCoy is on road once again, this time celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Blue Horizon, a surf documentary that contemplated the divergent paths of two of surfing brightest talents, Andy Irons and Dave Rastovich. Screenings are nationwide but the show comes to our neck of the woods next Friday 16 May. No doubt it'll sell out so get your tickets early!
Women's heats are in the water up at Burleigh for the Gold Coast Pro, it's small but very fun looking Burleigh Cove on offer. George Pittar will surf in Heat 10 of the Mens if/when they get underway - tune in
