Longevity
Empty
The east swell is hanging in and there's even some fresh south swell adding a little energy into the mix. The longevity of this swell is a testament to the vast area of ocean that this east coast low affected at its peak. And, there's still a couple of days left in it as the east swell trails off over the weekend and into next week.
There's been a huge shift in the sandbanks this week and the line up is dotted with deep holes, rips and gutters serving up all sorts. There's waves out there, the tricky part is finding something, or at least that was my experience.
Ever seen a nudibranch? I hadn't even heard of them until I learned that Cabbage Tree Bay is a hotspot for these beautiful other-worldly little guys. Opening our eyes to the wonders under the sea is one of the best things about the Northern Beaches Underwater Photography Competition. If you're a photographer, entries are now open. The public will get the chance to vote on the entries later in the month.
Bit of rain and wind back for the weekend.
