Mondays
Mellows
Mondays are a mellow affair in Manly, especially when we have almost zero swell and just a puff of offshore wind. It was quiet from Queenscliff to Cabbage Tree Bay and everywhere it between. Quiet is a relative term of course but compared to the busy energy of a Friday and the crazy weekend vibe, Monday can be like taking a walk in the forrest. I rolled over toward Bower Lane for a peek at sunrise in the southern corner and found the Bower Pool and the bay almost empty.
On my bike back to Queenscliff I was surprised to see a couple of waves breaking midway home masterfully ridden by none other than Tom Bennett. It was slim pickings, but tasty if you found the right one.
Today's the last day to make submissions on the DA for Manly LSC's proposed new development. My person concern with the proposal is the loss of view from the lookout spot at the end of Reddall St which will be significant. Public views spots in Manly are rare these days and should be protected. You can view the DA and make a submission for or against here.
