The south swell is on the build and it's going to stick around Sydney through the weekend and beyond, just in time as we lock into the winter season. It's been a brisk week so far!

6.8 degrees.  That's what my phone was telling me the temperature was when I left the house at 6am this morning! Man that's cold, specially given we've been basking in late summer conditions! Right now we've barely made it to 12….

Bit fresh out there this morning! Cold on the sand but the water is still amazing! 23 degrees in, not bad a week out from Winter! It's as clear as I can remember too! Take your chances, winter is coming! 

Look outside, it's another sensational autumn day unfolding. In fact, today wouldn't be out of place in Summer - we're heading for 25 degrees today which is the summer average. Go figure!

Feels like a mild summer morning out there today. The water's warm, the Tasman is flatlining and there's no shortage of people hitting the sand, and sea. Where else would you want to be?

Ol' Sydney town is blanketed in smoke haze today thanks to hazard reduction burns up in the Blue Mountains. Bad news for air-quality; good news if you like your sunrises (and sunsets) through the filtered lens of smoke

There's no shortage of south swell on offer, the challenge is finding a bank that'll take the swell and angle the odd workable wave face. I took a drive over the hill and up the Beaches on a search with limited results…

Morning Manly & beyond, it's good to be back on the home sand and in the brine to catch another superb sunrise.

G'day from the GC! I've slipped away for a quick jaunt north of the border. It's good living up here; dogs are allowed off-leash on the beach, parking's free and there's miles of fine sandy beaches and a reliable supply of east swell.

Classic Sydney Autumn morning out on the sand today. The wind has a serious chill to it first light but there's enough warmth in the sun to remind us that winter hasn't arrived just yet.

If you like offshore winds and clean fun waves (and let's face it, who doesn't) then today's your day. It's on!
We've got 2-4ft of SSE swell and just the right amount of offshore wind grooming the swell to perfection.

The south swell is up, conditions are polished and there's a crisp chill of winter in the air. Maybe this is a sign of the good things to come as we dive into the cooler months. Bring it on!

All bets were on another stunner sunrise this morning. I woke up and caught a hint of colour in the clouds, shook off the sleep, suited up bolted down to capture a one of these classic Autumn sunrise from the water.
