Summer's Kicking
Steamy Sunrise
It's starting to feel like Summer's kicking in for real. 20 degrees before the sun rose this morning and the water's back up to where it should be. We're up over 21 degrees according to the MHL which means it's time to shake out the boardshorts and tuck the steamer away until the next upwelling event.
I took a stroll along the beach at Curly this morning, most of the beach was blanketed in a glarey summer sea mist - it's a beautiful diffused light. Hard to get too excited about the surf this morning. Although, after 10 minutes of walking in soft sand and humidity it was hard to resist the call of the ocean. Jump in when you get a chance, she's calling your name!
- Surf film pioneer and producer of The Endless Summer, Bruce Brown passed in his sleep yesterday.
- The Pipe Masters is ON (hold that is). Round one has started and the 2018 World Title is at stake!
