Monday morning continues the weekend's run of good waves, minus most of the crowds.  It's still 3ft on the sets and if you can dodge the closeouts there's still some hollow makable waves to be had. I just read the news of the passing of Bernard "Midget" Farrelly.

I only encountered Midget a couple of times whilst surfing but what struck me was the style, grace and control he had whilst shifting a 9ft+ longboard around.  When I first witnessed Midget surfing he was well into his 60's but he looked truely ageless in the water.

Midget won the first World Surfing Championships at Manly in 1964 and cemented himself as industry stalwart and member of the local community. Thoughts go out to his friends and family.
