Winter finally arrived with a blast of cold air from the south and the first south swell of the season. The morning's have been fresh with a crisp sou'westerly wind biting at anything exposure to it. Let's face it, it was about time it got cold; June was almost tropical.

With the change in season comes a change in swell direction and this morning there's plenty of energy wrapping into the Manly-Queenscliff stretch. The swell has just enough east in it to be offering up some corners. Worth a paddle!

Next Wednesday 15 July, the Harbord Hilton are hosting the 2026 Save The Waves Film Festival. Always a good night of community and surf stories on the big screen. Half the tickets have already sold so it you're thinking about, now's the time to lock in
