Batten Down

Holy Shelf!

Theres wasn't a whole lot of indication that we're in for some rough weather over the next couple of days. This morning it was sunny and calm with clean little one to two footers slowly easing in. There was a little bit of cloud on the southern horizon but nothing as scary-looking as that front that passed over late yesterday afternoon (did you see that thing!). Without the insight of the Bureau, you might even contemplate hanging the washing out.

Despite the sunshine right now, it's coming and it's time to batten down. We're in for some wild weather the next couple of days as a low moves off the coast and intensifies in the Tasman. We're in for +30 knots of wind and 5 metre seas with a fair dose of rain falling too.

The potential for waves is mixed as the wind ramps up (Manly should be relatively protected) although on the far side of the weather we going to see a handful of days of solid South-East swell and Sou-west winds. Let's hope the low camps out in the Tasman long enough to push a week or so worth of ground swell our way. Batten Down, wax up the gun or hone in on your favourite novelty wave - we're in for a wild ride!
