Normal
Heaps Normal
This morning felt normal. The sun rose, a neat little east swell broke with some kind of appeal on the sand banks and people paddled out. Normal, enough yeah. Funny when normal feels like it's the exception, which it has for months now. And I'm not just talking about the sharks; the swell feels like it's been M.I.A. for months and as a consequence the banks have taken on the distinctly straight shape of a coastline not akin to the dynamic shifting sands of an energetic ocean. It's gotten so bad at Queenscliff, QBC started a petition on Change.org declaring "Fix Our Sandbanks!" A Royal Commission into the banks! 400 signatures strong and I believe Huey is finally listening. I'm feeling a comeback is imminent.
In other news, North Steyne's George Pittar has requalified for the World Championship Tour 2026 without even surfing a heat in Newcastle. How good! Looking forward to what he'll deliver with the pressure off and his first heat about to paddle out. Congratulations George, going to be an epic year watching the tour.
Cracker of a day out there - enjoy!
